Eastern Insurance Holdings, Inc. (EIHI) announced today that Curt Melville has joined Eastern Life & Health Insurance Company in the new position of Vice President of Underwriting. Eastern Life & Health Insurance Company (ELH) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of EIHI.
Melville is responsible for managing ELH's underwriting, group administration and actuarial services. As Vice President of Underwriting, he manages a $38 million portfolio of group benefit products primarily in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions.
Melville has nearly twenty years of claims and underwriting experience in the insurance industry. He most recently served as the Assistant Secretary/Director of Group Underwriting for Harleysville Life Insurance Company. Melville graduated from Clarion University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.

Founded in 1910, ELH provides group life, dental and disability insurance to customers in 16 states. ELH is licensed in 41 jurisdictions and markets and distributes its products through independent general agencies to approximately 1,900 independent producers.
